- ➤ The Providence Public Library and Rhode Island Historical Society have partnered with a national program to digitize the state’s historic newspapers (free access will be available through the Library of Congress website). - ➤ Five Iron Golf now offers an indoor golf experience with lessons, club fittings & over 200 simulated courses and weekday happy hour specials from 3-6 p.m. Indoor golf leagues will begin Monday, Feb. 9 & feature local course play. The Providence Journal

- ➤ Lincoln School’s girls basketball team won 70-48 over Tiverton Friday as it began its Division II season after a Division III title run, and coach Cindy Blodgett said the team will rely on strong defense and conditioning in upcoming games to push for a state championship. The Providence Journal
