- ➤ 211 has been a constant support for Rhode Islanders for nearly two decades. United Way’s senior director Courtney Smith said the service continues evolving through walk-in offices at 50 Valley St + mobile RV services as it expands digital and disaster support. The Providence Journal

- ➤ Cafe Alma, a new Portuguese restaurant and café, will open soon in East Providence in the former Silva’s Seafood Market space. Chef Kevin Matos will serve unique dishes (including bacalhau and smoked chourico wings) and host live music and community art events. The Boston Globe
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Bravo announced that The Real Housewives of Rhode Island will premiere on Thursday, April 2 at 9 p.m. and then air Sunday evenings at 9 p.m. The series, filmed at local spots (including Newport and Block Island), follows the cast as they navigate friendships and local rivalries. - ➤ The Providence Preservation Society released its list of the city's most endangered properties and noted that some historic structures are being torn down. Residents can review the list to see which landmarks are at risk. The Providence Journal
- ➤ Rhode Island hosts a week of local favorites with mindful sound baths at Zen Zone in Westerly on Monday, musical bingo at BreakTime Bowl in Pawtucket on Tuesday, bluegrass nights at Nick-a-Nee’s and Sunday Jazz at Courtland Club in Providence, plus adult skate, stargazing and dance events rounding out the schedule. - ➤ Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Rhode Island and Brown University’s new 2025 RI Life Index survey shows Rhode Islanders still worry about living costs, with cost of living scoring 21 and housing affordability 30—both unchanged from last year; core city ratings, including in Providence, remain lower among 2,117 respondents.
