- ➤ Brown University launched the Brown Loves Providence campaign on Feb. 14 — running through March 16 — to encourage shopping, volunteering and donations from students, faculty and staff in response to a tragic December event. 10 WJAR
- ➤ Snow and poorly parked cars caused gridlock Saturday night on Federal Hill when piles of snow blocked Atwells Ave and Dean St, leaving residents upset with snow cleanup efforts. 10 WJAR

- ➤ Trinity Brewhouse has reopened at 186 Fountain St. after six months of renovations by new owners Angel and Jason Winpenny (who now serve ten in-house Trinity beer styles and a refreshed pub menu) and is open daily at 11 a.m. The Providence Journal
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Travelers at T.F. Green Airport saw international service resume yesterday when Breeze Airway launched a flight to Cancun. This new route shifts the airport’s focus back from domestic travel after BermudAir, Norwegian Air and Frontier ended international flights in recent years. 10 WJAR

- ➤ Yesterday at the PCTA, the RIIL Girls Indoor Track Championships showcased top performances as Thea Jackson earned her first individual gold along with two others and La Salle clinched the team title with 101 points (its first win since 2022) ahead of North Kingstown. - ➤ Providence College's hockey team ended a nine-game win streak with a 4-2 loss to Northeastern on Friday but bounced back with a 4-1 win Saturday when freshman Michael Simpson made his debut in goal. PC stays atop Hockey East as it prepares for twin bill games in Burlington. Go Local Prov
- ➤ La Salle won the Boys Indoor Track Championship on Saturday, Feb. 14 at the PCTA in Providence by earning seven gold medals and 137.5 points to outdistance Hendricken, with standout performances in high jump, hurdles & pole vault. The Providence Journal
- ➤ Rhode Island men’s basketball lost 70-66 in overtime to Fordham on Saturday, Feb. 14, leaving the team near the bottom in total points this season. The Rams will face Saint Louis Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Ryan Center. The Providence Journal
- ➤ After a win over Harvard, Brown coach Monique LeBlanc said her team, now 7-3, is one step closer to Ivy Madness — holding a 3-game lead over its next closest competitor. The Providence Journal
- ➤ Providence forward Duncan Powell was suspended for three games after a flagrant foul sparked a fight on Saturday. He will miss the game against DePaul this Saturday, the Feb. 24 home game at Xavier and the Feb. 28 contest at Creighton with his return scheduled against Marquette on March 4. The Providence Journal
- ➤ Cranston West gymnast Gianna Desmarais won her second straight gymnastics All-Around title on Sunday, Feb. 15 at Rhode Island College’s Murray Center, earning a score of 36.575.
