  • Brown University students will host a benefit concert for Providence on March 6 at 8 p.m. at the Strand Ballroom on Washington Street & will feature artists Daiela, The Island Rovers, and Wil Rowland. All proceeds will go to benefit local residents & small businesses.  10 WJAR

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Today, a detailed timeline retraces the Station nightclub fire in West Warwick (23 years ago) that claimed 100 lives and injured over 200 people, prompting vital changes to the state’s fire safety codes.  The Providence Journal

  • FM acquired the IGT office tower at 10 Memorial Boulevard in downtown Providence on Thursday & will occupy part of the 10-story building while IGT remains a tenant, advancing FM’s expansion plan with new space in Boston and a forthcoming Science and Technology Center in Norwood.  The Boston Globe

  • Trinity Repertory Company in Providence presents The Roommate, a play about two middle-aged women exploring new identities in a modest kitchen setting — the production runs now through March 19 in repertory with Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale.  Rhode Island PBS
  • Providence neon artist Nick McKnight is preserving a more than 100-year-old art form by crafting bright signs for local businesses like G Pub and The Wilbury Theater Group.
