- ➤ On Thursday, Mayor Brett Smiley announced the Eat, Play, Learn program will return to offer free meals, project-based learning and summer job opportunities for children up to 18 in over 30 neighborhoods, with online sign-ups opening April 4. 10 WJAR

- ➤ The DEM used $880,000 from the Bouchard B-120 oil spill settlement to purchase 70 acres at Gull Cove in Portsmouth on March 5 for bird habitat and marsh restoration to help offset rising sea levels. The Providence Journal

- ➤ Brown University researchers have developed a new CNTR AISLE Portal to track over 1,000 AI-related bills introduced between January 2023 and January 2025, offering policymakers, journalists and the public a tool to sift through over 5,000 bills using analysis by a team of 22 students (17 undergrads and 5 graduates). - ➤ Mt. Hope won the Division II boys basketball championship on Friday, March 6 at Amica Mutual Pavilion— they defeated Burrillville 67—56 with Bam Adams scoring 20 points. The team now prepares for the state field round against Mount Pleasant. The Providence Journal
- ➤ Providence College basketball lost to Marquette Wednesday as reports indicate coach Kim English will not return next season—his three-season record is 42–50 while the team readies for its final regular season game Saturday and the Big East Tournament in New York City. 10 WJAR
