ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The Providence Fire Department responded to a fire at Bradley Café (near the Providence College campus) on Friday morning on Admiral St, with NBC 10 noting heavy smoke coming from the building.  10 WJAR

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Spring House Seafood Grill opened yesterday at T.F. Green International Airport (North Concourse across from Bellevue Essentials) and offers travelers a new dining experience inspired by Rhode Island’s coastal heritage.  Go Local Prov
  • Hasbro will list its longtime Pawtucket headquarters for sale after moving key operations to a new Boston facility. The change could affect local jobs (details on the transition are pending).  The Providence Journal
  • Stop & Shop will add clear shelf tags on cage-free eggs by the end of 2026 as part of its plan to reach 70% cage-free sales by 2030 and full conversion by 2032. The parent company announced the update on its sustainability page for its 25 local stores.  The Providence Journal

  • Boston Casting seeks male extras ages 18 to 25 for a horror film featuring football players; Verdi Productions + Live Nation Studios will begin filming in Rhode Island in April.  The Providence Journal
  • Downtown Track 15 is hosting a series of food events this month in Providence — Station Tastings on Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Martinis 101 on March 11, and a Culinary Collective celebration on March 29 with local vendors.  Go Local Prov

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Cranston Public Schools announced AES will become a traditional high school on July 1. Current AES students will keep their CTE programs, most staff remain and no ninth graders will enroll for 2026-27, a change aimed at boosting district enrollment + expanding opportunities.  10 WJAR

  • New England Aquarium observers saw three endangered blue whales in waters south of Rhode Island on Feb. 27–28, 2026 (the first time the species were recorded in the area), marking a significant marine event.  Rhode Island PBS

  • CVS Health and Google Cloud will launch Health 100 later this year - an AI-powered digital platform that acts as a personal health assistant for consumers from Woonsocket. The platform will offer benefit data, price transparency, alerts and guidance to simplify health care.  The Boston Globe
