- ➤ Gary Gromkiewicz and Michael Lambert were sentenced to life today for the 2022 murder of pregnant Leila Duarte Da Luz after cell phone data tracked them from Brockton to Carbuncle Pond in Coventry—Gromkiewicz tried to represent himself by saying he did not kill her, but the judge denied his request. - ➤ Screenings of 'Secret Mall Apartment' have been extended through April 2 at Providence Place — the documentary details how eight artists created a secret apartment in the mall. - ➤ Sen. Jack Reed criticized the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services plan to cut 10,000 jobs and close half its regional offices as a risk to public health. He said the cuts will weaken agencies like the CDC and FDA—potentially leading to reduced Medicaid and Medicare services and a heavier burden on local communities. The Providence Journal
- ➤ RIPTA is planning a new bus hub in downtown Providence and has selected two locations near the train station — one on Park Row West and one on Francis Street.
