  • Families can join four Easter egg hunts this weekend in RI, including Preserve Sporting Club on Sunday, Apr. 5 from 10-11 a.m. with egg races and crafts, an Easter Bunny meet at Roger Williams Park Zoo through Apr. 4, plus hunts at Gooseneck Vineyards and Butterfly Farm on Apr. 4.  The Providence Journal

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Rhode Island Commerce Corporation approved over $3 million in tax credit incentives for Providence-based Nabsys to support 243 net new jobs at a median salary of $150,000. The company is seeking additional state funds as it plans to expand its facility (30,000 sqft) at 225 Dyers Street.  Go Local Prov
  • Providence customers planning Easter shopping should note that local Walmart, Trader Joe's, and Shaw's stores will operate on regular hours on Sunday, April 5 while Target, ALDI, and Market Basket remain closed (check online for updates).  The Providence Journal
  • Providence Journal has extended the nomination deadline for Rhode Island Top Workplaces awards to May 8, offering eligible public, private, non-profit, school and government organizations with 35-or-more employees the chance to have employees complete a 26-question survey before the awards in October.  The Providence Journal

  • The "Real Housewives of RI" cast visited several local bars and restaurants on Thursday, Apr. 2 after their show premiere. They were seen at Snookers and Medici Lounge in Providence, Bar 101 in Johnston, Twin Oaks and Thirsty Beaver in Cranston, and The Social in North Providence.  The Providence Journal

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Wildlife Clinic of Rhode Island released two orphaned kitten bobcats into the wild on March 30 after rehabilitating them since last July, and video captured the event from the Clinic and URI's Quest Lab.  The Providence Journal

HEALTH NEWS

  • Gov. Dan McKee called on legislators on Friday at the Hasbro Children's Hospital lobby to support a $10 million fund that will help cover rising costs for uninsured patients at local hospitals through the Disproportionate Share Hospitals payment system.  10 WJAR
  • The FDA has recalled millions of eye drop bottles sold at local CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid stores for possible non-sterility (expiration dates range from April to October), and Providence customers should check their products against recalled lot codes.  The Providence Journal

  • Seven brunch spots offer local diners creative menus and classic favorites in Providence and across the region, with highlights including Nicks on Broadway and Waterman Grille.
