- ➤ On April 12, Ken Block criticized Speaker Joe Shekarchi for opposing a plan to form an independent inspector general office to root out wasteful spending. Shekarchi responded by saying he reviewed the testimony and raised concerns over the costs and potential duplication of existing oversight agencies. Go Local Prov
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Bryant forward Josh Ozabor announced his intent to transfer from the Bulldogs; he has one year of eligibility left after redshirting his junior season and is a two-time conference champion. ABC 6
- ➤ URI transfer Cam Estevez announced his move to Fairfield after playing two seasons with the Rams—where he averaged five points per game last season. He will join a new team in New England and is expected to compete in upcoming games. ABC 6
- ➤ Jayden Pierre left Providence College by committing to TCU and will spend his final season in the Big 12 after starting 63 of 97 games, while busy transfer moves at Providence and Bryant also saw Bryant’s new coach Jamion Christian hire four staff members. Patrick Clemmey of Bishop Hendricken made his varsity debut with four innings and nine strikeouts in an 11—1 win over Coventry. The Providence Journal
