- ➤ Gamm Theatre presents Martin McDonagh’s play 'The Cripple of Inishmaan' in Warwick. The dark comedy follows a young orphan seeking escape from an oppressive town in 1934 and runs through May 3 (tickets cost $70-$80). The Boston Globe
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Brown University researchers have launched a website that tracks real-time gasoline and diesel price hikes from Iran's war, showing an extra $150 for the average household. The tracker, based on AAA data and federal sources, helps local consumers plan for higher fuel costs. Brown University
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Most public schools across the state will observe spring break the week of Patriots' Day with most starting on Monday, April 20, while some districts, such as Barrington Public Schools, have set different vacation dates. The Providence Journal
- ➤ Central Falls may soon regain control of its schools after a study commission recommended the district return to local management beginning in July; Mayor Maria Rivera (whose term ends after 2028) led a plan that won support from Governor Dan McKee and legislative leaders while Providence schools remain under state control since 2019. - ➤ Brown University President Christina Paxson announced a committee will recommend a permanent memorial honoring Ella Cook and MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, the two students killed in December.
