- ➤ Impact Center Providence is preparing to purchase 184 Broad St. next month — the church began using the space after a January fire damaged its Elmwood Avenue building and will continue hosting worship and youth services nearby. 10 WJAR
- ➤ United Way of Rhode Island and The Providence Journal will host panel discussions on challenges and opportunities facing the nonprofit sector. The event will take place on April 23 (2 to 3:30 p.m.) at Cranston’s William Hall Library (registration is required). The Providence Journal

- ➤ A woman in her 30s was robbed leaving Marcelino’s in the Omni Hotel on Saturday, April 20th as police recovered her purse and phone near Eddy Street—investigators then arrested a suspect seen committing another crime. Go Local Prov

- ➤ Charles Looff made Rhode Island famous for his work on the 1895 Crescent Park carousel in Riverside. His masterpiece still runs today—showcasing his artistic talent—and remains a key example of the state’s carousel legacy. The Providence Journal

- ➤ The Rhode Island Friars men's basketball team added two forwards—Keeyan Itejere and Alex Crawford—from the transfer portal as guard Jabri Abdur-Rahim entered the portal for a medical hardship waiver.
