- ➤ Nitro Bar will soon open a new location at 134 Ives St. on the East Side, as announced on Instagram. The brand known for its nitro infused cold brew coffee + inventive toppings has built viral success since starting as a humble coffee cart. The Providence Journal
- ➤ A new Applebee's restaurant in Cranston at Chapel View held its grand opening on Monday, replacing the Garden City Center location lost in a 2024 fire. Officials said the restaurant hired over 100 staff and will open 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. 10 WJAR

- ➤ Brown’s annual International Festival showcased diverse cultural foods, music, dance and games at Sayles Hall on Saturday, April 18 (organized by the Global Brown Center). Hundreds enjoyed homemade dishes and performances that connected students with their rich traditions. Brown University
- ➤ Wicked Tulips has opened for the season at a new location in North Kingstown (140 Exeter Rd) that is double the size of its former site in Exeter. Tickets are available online and a second location in Preston is expected to open later this season. 10 WJAR
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rhode Island acquired the 68-acre Princess Pine Estate in Hopkinton today to expand public access to nature in part of the Pawcatuck Borderlands. Funded by state, federal, and nonprofit partners, the site will offer hiking, fishing, and boating access, with 15 acres closed for improvements. The Providence Journal

- ➤ Rhode Island leaders and local officials gathered Monday at Veterans Memorial Park (North Kingstown) to celebrate the Liberty Tree planting marking the nation’s 250th anniversary.
