- ➤ On Sunday, the Coast Guard reported that a barge carrying pilings nearly sank off the Rhode Island coast when its crew grounded it near Bonnet Shores to avoid taking on water, and it was dewatered Monday before being towed to a facility in Quonset for inspection. The Boston Globe
