- ➤ Heritage Restaurant Group applied for a liquor license for Olneyville New York System—known for its hot wieners and coffee milk—on May 29 and plans to add craft cocktails plus an alcoholic twist on its signature drink. Some local customers and Councilman Oscar Vargas oppose the change while the board will review the application on June 5 and the owners said alcohol service will end by 1 a.m. 10 WJAR

- ➤ The Rhode Island House will vote on a revised assault weapons ban next week on June 3; the new bill refines which guns are considered assault weapons and lets current owners keep them without registration—though owners face limits on where they can carry their weapons.
