  • Jurors began deliberations on Friday in the Karen Read retrial after weeks of testimony in a case where she is charged with killing her boyfriend with her SUV in 2022, while state lawmakers have advanced a bill to allow the burned Matunuck Oyster Bar to serve outdoor diners this summer to help save jobs. WaterFire has asked for more funds from wealthy donors, and lawmakers plan to raise Block Island Ferry fees along with increasing gas taxes, traffic fines and registration costs in the new state budget—key details that will affect local drivers and tourists.  10 WJAR

  • Rhode Island FC won its first game at the new Centreville Bank Stadium on June 14 by defeating North Carolina FC 2-1 when Maxi Rodriguez scored a stoppage-time penalty kick.
