ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ After a crash on I-95 on July 26, Providence Fire Department trucks blocked the left lane near the Broad Street overpass — ABC 6 News crews saw multiple firefighters around two trucks and a person being taken from one truck on a stretcher. ABC 6
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday afternoon, Providence Police responded to Somerset Street after a 65-year-old was stabbed in the stomach near a McDonald's on Broad Street (the victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital and officers arrested a suspect with blood on his shirt carrying a knife). Go Local Prov
- ➤ On Friday night, Providence police and state troopers responded to a fight at Noir Lounge on Union Street—where 24-year-old Louis Stevenson allegedly assaulted an officer who was later treated at a hospital and officers dispersed a crowd of several hundred loitering nearby. Go Local Prov

- ➤ At the Newport Folk Festival on July 26, 2025, Cumberland native Tyler Ballgame led his band on the Fort Stage while acts like Remi Wolf and Illiterate Light energized large crowds on the Quad and Harbor stages—fans enjoyed a full day of live folk and indie rock performances. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Brown Summer High School, a nearly 55-year program in Providence, added after-school activities to support rising ninth graders and multilingual learners. - ➤ Burrillville's Little League team won its first state baseball championship in over 50 years — a win that has thrilled local fans. ABC 6
