ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Massachusetts State Police said a crash on Interstate 195 in Seekonk killed 18-year-old Abriana Herrera Perez of Providence late Sunday night—three cars were involved and five others were taken to hospital as investigators looked into the cause. 10 WJAR
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Several Providence police officers are facing re-training and disciplinary actions for not following proper policies during their response at a 4th of July house party on West Friendship Street—charges against the four arrested individuals have been dropped. ABC 6
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Dan McKee will sign the minimum wage raise into law at 10 a.m. today at the State House—wages will rise from $15 to $17 over the next two years after the bill passed in June. ABC 6
- ➤ Today, Congressman Seth Magaziner is spotlighting workers as he reintroduces the Protected Time Off Act—designed to require employers to give full-time workers at least two weeks of paid vacation—to address the fact that over 27 million private sector employees currently receive no paid leave. The bill would change labor benefits for millions if it passes. ABC 6

- ➤ Parents Jackie and Jordan Dembishack started The Olivia Joan Foundation to fund research and offer scholarships for pediatric studies after their 4-year-old daughter, Olivia, was diagnosed with rare GNAO1 disorder — a condition that causes severe health issues and frequent hospital visits. The nonprofit will host its third annual comedy fundraiser on Oct. 4 at The Guild Brewing Co. in Pawtucket — an event set to raise funds for research and potential treatments. The Boston Globe
