ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters responded quickly to a fire at the Asian Taste restaurant on Taunton Avenue in East Providence at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, knocking down the blaze in 15 minutes and causing damage that will force the restaurant to close for a couple of weeks while no injuries were reported and the owner attempted to fight the fire with a garden hose. 10 WJAR
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A body washed ashore in Jamestown on Sunday near Heads Beach — a swimmer reported the sighting shortly after 7:30 a.m. — and police, with the Rhode Island State Medical Examiner’s Office taking custody, launched a multi-agency investigation led by RISP. Go Local Prov

- ➤ After filming wrapped for M. Night Shyamalan’s 'Remain' at Fort Wetherill State Park in Jamestown, he celebrated with his cast and crew as members of the Rhode Island Film & Television Office joined him at a Providence rooftop bar—an event held on Saturday, August 10th. The Providence Journal

- ➤ An investigation by GoLocal found that inspection reports for day care centers are not online because of a technology failure at the Department of Human Services that was admitted on Friday.
