- ➤ Seth Crosby, a former Johnston police officer and high-level Department of Corrections official on paid leave for crimes against children, was arraigned on child pornography and video voyeurism charges in Kent County District Court on August 14th — he was accused of filming an underage girl and her boyfriend in Cranston. 10 WJAR

- ➤ The Providence Journal has compiled a list of over 125 films and TV shows that were set or filmed in Rhode Island from the silent film era to modern blockbusters. - ➤ Providence Municipal Court Chief Judge Frank Caprio died today—leaving behind decades of service and a strong dedication to fairness in the judicial system. The Providence Journal
- ➤ Providence’s long-time Judge Frank Caprio died Wednesday, Aug. 20 after battling pancreatic cancer, his family said. He was celebrated for his warmth and humor in the courtroom—Governor Dan McKee ordered flags flown at half-staff to honor him. The Providence Journal
- ➤ Today, Governor Dan McKee will sign an extension for the state’s paid family leave program at 11:30 a.m.—the extension raises wage replacement from 60% to 70% beginning in January and to 75% the following January, funded by a higher payroll cap with no effect on the state budget. ABC 6
- ➤ Attorney General Peter Neronha is still deciding whether to fire special prosecutor Devon Flanagan after she told officers 'I’m an AG' and that they would regret arresting her at a Newport restaurant on Aug. 14. Flanagan will be arraigned on Aug. 27 for trespassing—Neronha said her behavior is inexcusable and she must rebuild her reputation. The Boston Globe
