- ➤ U-Haul analysis shows that many new Boston residents came from Providence—one of the top feeder cities behind New York City. U.S. Census estimates reveal that Providence grew by 0.6% from 2022 to 2023—reversing a previous trend of decline. The Providence Journal

- ➤ A Rhode Island Special Assistant Attorney General Devon Hogan Flanagan was arrested for trespassing in Newport last week and will begin unpaid leave on Monday, Aug. 25—while the case remains under review. 10 WJAR

- ➤ State regulators discussed a moratorium on new natural gas hookups on Aquidneck Island at a Newport hearing on August 20 for climate and public health reasons. - ➤ Rhode Island has passed a law that adds menopause to its Fair Employment Practices—employers must offer changes like flexible schedules and cooler workspaces to help workers manage symptoms such as hot flashes and fatigue. - ➤ The family of retired Judge Frank Caprio announced his funeral details on social media—calling hours will be held on August 28 and a Funeral Mass will be held on August 29 in Providence.
