- ➤ Barrington police continue to search for 17-year-old Cian Fearon, who was last seen Monday, August 18th at 7 p.m. (wearing a maroon shirt and a pink hooded sweatshirt) as officers expand efforts into nearby towns and states to locate him. 10 WJAR
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Downtown Providence Park Network is launching an interactive walking trail that features five anchor sculptures with QR codes and 200 lamppost banners in downtown, with the public debut set for Sept. 21 from noon to 7 p.m. The displays will play Rhode Island-themed music while sharing stories of figures like Bernoon and Cicilline — a nod to Providence’s maritime past — and invite visitors to learn about local history. - ➤ Newport’s Easton's Beach, known as First Beach, is the oldest public beach in Rhode Island as it opened in 1887 and remains popular with visitors as summer wanes — non-resident parking costs apply from April through November. - ➤ U.S. News and World Report ranked Classical High School in Providence as Rhode Island’s best public high school, placing it 166th among nearly 18,000 schools nationwide. The report used measures like test scores and graduation rates—resulting in a list of 20 top high schools in the state. The Providence Journal
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Three top real estate experts said that after three months with single-family home prices above $500K, a potential Fed rate cut could spur more refinancing for first-time buyers and push up sale prices for homes with multiple offers.
