  • Providence Place Mall will add a 7% increase to parking fees when the new tax takes effect on October 1—approved by city and state officials—and movie theater operator Showcase announced it will not renew its lease, which expires at the end of January—leaving the cinema in limbo. SPORTS NEWS

  • Yesterday, North Providence (Cougars) won its first season victory with a score of 24 to 7 over Central Falls after adjustments to the offensive line allowed Kaiden Wray to score two key touchdowns.   • On Saturday, Davies earned its first win with a blowout 51—20 over Hope as their offense came alive in the second half; Tyrell Barros threw five touchdowns to help secure the victory.  The Providence Journal
  • Ponaganset beat Cranston East 21-6 on Friday with a dominant defense and strong runs by Lyric Picard and Zach Rocchio + the team started the season 3-0 and is focused on reasserting its Super Bowl hopes.  The Providence Journal
  • North Providence's football team won 24—7 against Central Falls on Saturday afternoon. The team started strong and, after Central Falls fought back, finished the game with a solid performance.  The Providence Journal
  • North Smithfield football won against Exeter-West Greenwich on September 27—photos captured key moments during the game, showing strong plays by the players. This performance highlighted the team's effort and skill on the field.  The Providence Journal
