- ➤ Suzy Alba, a former town leader in Smithfield, said the town ended its diversity group in October 2023 after racist graffiti was found on a Route 116 bridge. - ➤ Providence shoppers saw their SNAP benefits fully refreshed on Saturday—bringing relief ahead of grocery trips—and Gov. Dan McKee confirmed that 79,000 in-state recipients have received funds with contingency plans in place if future distributions are delayed. The move comes amid ongoing debates over the federal SNAP rollout and growing concerns as many nationwide have received only partial benefits. 10 WJAR

- ➤ The Rhode Island Department of Health reported a case of infant botulism in a baby who ate ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula purchased online, with symptoms first noted on October 24 and treatment beginning after hospitalization. - ➤ North Kingstown girls volleyball won the 2025 RIIL state championship today— the team secured their title in a decisive state final. The Providence Journal
- ➤ St. Raphael won the Div. III girls soccer title on Nov. 8 after defeating Exeter-West Greenwich 2-0 at Rhode Island College — their win secured the championship. The Providence Journal
- ➤ Cranston West won its Friday quarterfinal game by 14-7 over Portsmouth as its defense held strong and quarterback Jonathan Leroux made safe plays. The team will face top-seeded La Salle in the State Championship semifinals next week. The Providence Journal
- ➤ Providence lost 107-101 in overtime to Virginia Tech at the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament in Uncasville—Conn, marking the teams' first meeting in 21 years.
