- ➤ In Warwick, 17 friends work together to build food baskets for families in need as part of their Friendsgiving tradition. They fill the baskets with items like cranberry sauce, stuffing, and vegetables—and add a turkey when available—with each basket costing about $20 and set to be delivered the week of Thanksgiving. 10 WJAR
- ➤ Rhode Island SPCA has made 10 rescued cats available for adoption from a Central Falls building where 46 cats and 4 dogs were found living in harsh conditions on November 3; many of the animals received treatment at the East Providence facility—some have already found permanent homes. 10 WJAR
- ➤ Residents in Providence learn that there are no state laws limiting holiday lights installation when not guided by HOA rules, but many HOAs - especially in luxury waterfront areas - set timelines that usually allow displays from late November through early January. - ➤ The state auctioned hundreds of unclaimed items that included many pieces of gold and other valuables — officials confirmed the sale was open to interested bidders. The Providence Journal
- ➤ Multiple local governments from Pawtucket, Central Falls and Lincoln have joined forces to clean up the Moshassuck Valley Industrial Highway, which has been used for illegal dumping; police and public works crews will begin work at the Lincoln-Pawtucket city line early November 22. 10 WJAR
- ➤ Providence officials explained that a proposed update to the entertainment ordinance will allow more live music but require performances to end earlier—if approved, the change may shift local event times. The Providence Journal
