- ➤ This week, Yelp revealed RI’s top 25 restaurants with a new fast-casual spot in Providence and a Middletown seafood eatery making the list, while the Diocese approved parish mergers in Providence & West Warwick along with proposed consolidations in Pawtucket. A reporter’s SNAP challenge showed the hardship of living on $6 a day, the AG office’s broader role has set up a competitive 2026 race, and a goldendoodle named Ginger finally returned home after 60 days evading coyotes & traps. - ➤ Yesterday at the Warren Alpert Medical School, nearly 150 medical students shared findings from their summer research projects, including studies on delirium severity and maternal depression's effect on child development—this annual symposium offered a platform for students to present their work to classmates and faculty. - ➤ Rhode Island leaders are considering banning player prop bets—wagers on individual athletes—to stop corruption after recent allegations that some players took bribes to change game outcomes.
