- ➤ Roger Williams Park Zoo will offer free admission on Saturday, Dec. 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. visitors are asked to bring non-perishable food for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, and the zoo will provide half-price admission from Jan. 1 through Feb. 28. The Providence Journal

- ➤ Octet is a chamber choir musical exploring technology’s harmful effects on relationships at the Wilbury Theatre through Dec. 21, marking its Rhode Island premiere. - ➤ A new CDC study found that children who received the 2024 COVID vaccine had a lower risk of needing emergency care, based on nearly 100,000 cases from Aug. 2024 to Sept. 2025; it reported 76% effectiveness for kids (9 months–4 years) and 57% for kids (5–17). ABC 6
- ➤ A team of neuroscientists at Brown University developed CaBLAM, a bioluminescent imaging tool that safely measures brain cell activity in lab animals+the method avoids photobleaching and cellular damage. The study was completed on Dec. 10 and may boost future brain research. Brown University
