Impact Center Providence is preparing to purchase 184 Broad St. next month — the church began using the space after a January fire damaged its Elmwood Avenue building and will continue hosting worship and youth services nearby.

United Way of Rhode Island and The Providence Journal will host panel discussions on challenges and opportunities facing the nonprofit sector.

The event will take place on April 23 (2 to 3:30 p.m.) at Cranston’s William Hall Library (registration is required).
